Your apartments are located on the estate grounds of the ancient Torre del Gallo castle, a spectacular building with a 1,200-year history. At one time the castle controlled the road into Florence from Chianti and was where the tax collector levied taxes on all goods coming into town from the countryside. Situated south of the river Arno and on the summit of the hill at Arcetri, which is the highest elevation in the city, its location overlooking both the city and the countryside has always been strategic.
